Pam (the babe in the pictures below) and I went backpacking in the Grand Canyon, in the Southwest area of the United States. We hiked from the North Rim to the South Rim, spending three days/two nights in the Canyon. The hike is twenty-four miles long and includes an elevation change of one mile down on the first day, and one mile up on the third day (the middle day is a gentle downslope). We camped at Cottonwood and Bright Angel campgrounds in the Canyon, and at the North Rim Campground before beginning the hike; then stayed in a hotel room at the South Rim after we came up. The highest temperature was one-hundred degrees (F) during the day by the Colorado River, and the lowest was in the mid-thirties (F) at night on the North Rim. The pictures below tend to represent the first half of each day's hike more than the second half because I was just too tired to take pictures at the end of the hikes. Mark
